Batch update function in admin - Employee Setup
This function will allow you to do a batch update to roles or permissions of many users without having to enter it individually in each profile.
For example, if you wanted to add a Permission (give a group access to black module) or Role (give a group the Role of Insurance Brokers or CSR), you would action it here and it would change the Employee Setup.
- From admin module, select Employee Setup.
- Then select the Batch Update icon, shown below:
- Select either of these:
- For this example we will use Employee Set up.
- You will asked to complete the following fields, the content of those fields will vary, depending on how you have your roles or permissions set up.
Field = Do you want to batch update the Roles section or Permission Groups in admin.
Who = Choose which employees to apply the update to.
Action = Choose between Add or Remove. (do you want to add or remove the permission that you are changing).
What = Select the Permission group/s that you want to apply.
You could also use this Batch Update function to update permissions for multiple users. So if you wanted to add access to the black module, for all users, you could use this function to complete that.
When you select Field as Permission Groups, then use the What dropdown menu of the permission groups you can add, under Who, select the users to add the access to. Here is an example:
- There is also a Preview option for you, so that you can see what or where this update will take effect. This can be important if you are looking to update a lot of files, roles or users. Here is an image of the screen with the Preview button.
- Once you have previewed or are happy with the selections, select Submit and the actions will be applied.
Another use for this feature is if you created a new Permission Group.
- Create a new Permission Group, (in the Permission Group section of the admin module).
- Then come to this Batch Update feature to add all your users to the new permission group.
- When you select the 'What?' from the section shown above, you select your new permission group and under 'Who?', select the users who require the access to it.
